This guitar has a beautiful spruce soundboard from the Swiss Alps with a moderate amount of "hazelfichte" figure. The back and sides are Indian rosewood, the bindings curly koa. I sent a piece of koa wood cut from the same plank as the bindings to Rodgers Tuning Machines in England, which they cut into exquisite matching grips. The tuner plates are of my own design. The guitar has a new variation on my handmade traditional-style rosette, with matching purfling on the headstock. It has a beautiful traditional French polish finish. The scale is 650 mm, with my standard 12-hole bridge, 20th fret at the first string, and 18k gold position markers on the side of the fingerboard at the seventh and seventeenth frets. As on all my instruments, both nut and saddle are compensated at each string to improve intonation, using Greg Byers' method.

I am very happy with the sound of this instrument--it has everything I wanted from it: power, finesse, volume, sweetness, sustain. The player for whom it was built has this to say about it: "The guitar is quick, a dream on the left hand, loud when it's pushed, but always clear and focused...The trebles are GREAT. The basses have the deep rich character and clear support I want without edging out the trebles...With little effort I can change dynamics, angle of attack, and feel of the tone. The guitar looks gorgeous...it is all amazing and beautiful! You have, from our phone conversations and email correspondence, constructed the guitar that matches my tastes. This is quite amazing to me.  It is one thing to build a guitar and have someone like it, appreciate it, but to craft all of the characteristics that someone requests! That is truly special."
