Notes: This
is a simple semicircular shawl, really almost mindless knitting, but
looks very effective. The "lace" pattern is nothing but eyelet rows. The
shape is achieved by doubling the number of stitches at four points
during the knitting (via K1, YO). Modifications: added extra colors; worked last section before border (the gold stripe) with double yarnovers; used a different border entirely that I thought matched the design better ("Bold-Faggotted Edging" from Barbara Walker's Second Treasury). |
