Thérèse's knitting

Ruffles scarf

Designer: Amanda Blair Brown
Pattern source: Scarf Style (Interweave Press)
Yarn: Peruvian Collection worsted-weight alpaca from Elann
Completed: November, 2004

This cunning design makes absolutely addictive knitting--it's a long sequence of short-row wedges which make the scarf corkscrew as you go along. The first stitch of each row is slipped, which makes the edges roll neatly under. I taught myself to knit backward instead of turning all those SHORT short rows. This scarf is about six feet long, and took about 375 yards of yarn. It was so much fun, I've started another in the same yarn, different color.
